About Amy

Amy Stevens—quilt designer, pattern author, and quilting teacher—learned to sew at a young age. Her mother bought Amy a toy sewing machine when she was 6, and no piece of fabric was safe after that! Early projects included clothing for her teddy bears and herself, as well as pillows, purses, and other trinkets for anyone nearby.

While studying Mathematics at UCI, Amy ran her own craft and floral design business. She met her husband while teaching at a computer training school, and obtained her Adult Education Teaching Credential after they married. Following the birth of Amy's son, mother-in-law Nina encouraged her to take up quilting. With her background in math, Amy leans toward geometric designs in graded color schemes in her quilts.

Amy presents several wonderful quilt classes at Material Possessions Quilt Shop in Lake Forest, CA. Her patterns are available for purchase at the shop, and have been featured in the Better Homes and Gardens Quilting catalog.
